Our campouts are Friday through Sunday since we have some members who are still working. With the price of gas a number of members are coming early on Thursday and or staying Sunday.

 

The year started for us in February at Maple Leaf RV Park in Morgan Hill. Our hosts George and Sandy McElvain provided a baked ham dinner for 13 rigs. There was a lot of visiting and catching up with the latest news. Gil & Sylvia Mullen were voted in as new members. Indoor games were played.

 

March found us at the Casa De Fruita RV Resort in Hollister. It was cloudy and windy with rain and hail however a good time was had by all. Friday night heavy hors d’ oeuvres were plentiful and filling. There were 20 rigs for the weekend with hosts Bill & Dolores Wright providing corned beef and cabbage for Saturday’s night’s dinner. Lots of games were played.

 

The Petaluma KOA was our April destination. There were 13 rigs for the outing. Gayle Picha’s cat bit her and it was off to the hospital for her to get a shot and pills. Saturday morning, hosts Jack and Cathy Dorfman provided juice, pancakes and lots of fruit for breakfast. A paper airplane contest was held with Glen Melanson taking first place with a flight of 60 feet. A fire was going in the recreation room. Barbequed London Broil was Saturday night’s dinner.

 

A new campground The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in Chowchilla was our May location. There were 10 rigs for the outing with some coming as early as Wednesday. The temperature hit 105 and the pool got a lot of use. For each night paid for you receive two rounds of golf free. Many Bamers played golf. A large group went to the Chukchansi Casino where we received “T” shirts, twofer coupons for the buffet and $5.00 free play. The Chowchilla fair was running and members went to check it out. Saturday breakfast was French toast, fruit and sweet rolls. Our hosts Fred and Tina Goodwin made home made lasagna and garlic bread for dinner. Lots of indoor games were played. Sunday morning we had a continental breakfast before leaving.

 

The Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles was our June destination. The campout started early for some members who arrived on Wednesday to the 104 degree heat. The pool got a lot of use every day. A large group headed over to Big Bubbas Barbeque for dinner Thursday night. Bamers headed in different directions Hearst castle, wineries, airplane museum

and the beach. Our hosts Jack & Kay Huston provided Saturday breakfast of banana & walnut pancakes & ham and a dinner of pulled pork. Mike Herrier informed us that his house had been broken into while they were camping. They lost their laptop, Jewelry and suffered a lot of damage. To make matters worse they were broken into again two weeks later. They now have an alarm system, lights and cameras.

 

Betabel RV Park in San Juan Bautista was our July destination. This was the first campout as wagon master for Mike & Ruth Herrier. There were 14 rigs to help him celebrate. We welcomed Georgia Pauly back from her knee surgery. Horse shoes and bocce ball were played. They provided Saturday breakfast walnut pancakes fruit and biscuits and gravy and Carne Asada for Saturday dinner.

 

Sugar Barge Resort and Marina on Bethel Island was our August campout with 10 rigs enjoying the sun. A large group went to the Sugar Barge Restaurant for dinner Thursday night. The walkers picked fresh berries. A group went fishing everyday and came back with some catfish. Our hosts, Steve and Gayle Picha provided a Saturday breakfast of juice, pancakes, sausage and fruit. They barbequed hamburgers for dinner. The group  provided the accompanying dishes. Games were played afterwards.
